Chronic Pain Research Needs You!

By taking part in the following short study you will be helping to develop scientific literature, advance our understanding of chronic pain and you will also be in with a chance to win £50.00.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the experience of chronic pain and how it has impacted on individuals’ lives. It is not to identify what causes or maintains chronic pain.

Who? This study is open to anyone who experiences chronic pain aged between 18-65 years of age. However, the chronic pain experienced should not have developed as a direct result of a traumatic event e.g. road traffic accident, physical attack.

Participation: We are looking to recruit between 80 - 100 participants to this study. All participants will have a chance to win £50 - the winner will be randomly selected by an independent adjudicator. Your participation in this survey is voluntary and you are free to withdraw at any time without giving any reason.

Time: The study is an online survey and should only take between 25-35 minutes to complete (up to 45 minutes if your condition affects your ability to complete questionnaires).

How your data is used: All participant responses will be kept completely confidential and no personally identifying data will be included. This is a national survey, so is not exclusive to your geographical area.

What happens to the findings? The findings of this study will be written into a report and will be submitted to a scientific journal for publication. By supplying your correspondence details (e.g. e-mail or address) a copy of the executive summary or the full report can be sent to you.
