Carers Support Service North and Mid Sussex
Are you looking after someone who due to age, physical or mental illness, addiction or disability couldn’t manage without your help? Then you are a carer and the Carers Support Service could help you.
We are a local charitable organisation that exists to help carers lead fulfilling lives. Carers are relatives, friends or neighbours, any age and unpaid. All our services to carers are FREE!
With a central office based in Crawley we cover the areas of Horsham, Crawley and Mid Sussex and have contact with a large number of local and national caring organisations.
We organise regular local events for carers, most of which are FREE and frequently include lunch or refreshments!
This summer we are organising a special day at Worth Abbey on 12th June 2008 to celebrate Carers’ Week. Come along and enjoy a jazz band, complementary therapies, strawberries and cream, guided walks and gentle relaxation in the tranquil surroundings of Worth Abbey. The day runs from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. BOOKING ESSENTIAL. To book a place ring the office on 01293 657040
We also provide discounted complementary therapies, a call back service if you need someone to talk to, the opportunity to take a short break at St Cuthman’s, a beautiful Jacobean country house run by the RC Diocese of Arundel and Brighton in Coolham, a varied training programme and support workers at your local GP surgery who will provide a listening ear and help with filling in forms.
If you are caring for somebody and would like more information about our services ring 01293 657040 or visit our website: www.carerssupport.org.uk
Sue Edgson, Information Worker for the Carers Support Service, will be attending the Fibromyalgia Support Group Meeting at Crawley Hospital on Monday 7th April. She will be happy to answer your questions about the service.
