The Fibromyalgia Association UK (FMA UK) is a non-profit making organisation working towards raising awareness of fibromyalgia (FM) in the UK.
"I, myself, have battled for years to find a reason for my problems and finally I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia Syndrome and Hypermobility Syndrome. What I have learned to realise is that no one appears to have heard of either and that there is little awareness or support for sufferers particularly in rural areas such as Herefordshire."
A Fibromyalgia support group and help line, who meet regularly in Sunderland, Tyne + Wear
The Nottingham and East Midlands support group for fibromyalgia is based at the City Hospital Nottingham which is run voluntarily for the members by the committee and committee helpers. This website contains information about the group and what they do along with information about fibromyalgia to help people diagnosed to understand their condition.
Through the group we want to encourage sufferers to realise that you do not need to be a
victim. There is now much more information on the internet which looks at ways of coping
and managing with this condition.
Informal drop-in support meetings. Partners and carers are welcome and encouraged to attend too. Meetings 1st Tuesday and 3rd Monday each month.
Fibromyalgia Association Scotland (FMA Scotland) was started in November 2003 to provide information, advice and support for people with Fibromyalgia throughout Scotland. To work in Partnership with other organisations, voluntary and statutory groups to promote awareness of Fibromyalgia and to advise and assist the establishing of Fibromyalgia Support Groups throughout Scotland.
