Hope Award 2007

The Fibromyalgia Support Group for Surrey and Sussex website has won a Hope Award 2007. The Hope Award is given to websites that offer positive support and encouragement to people suffering from chronic illnesses, and is awarded by IBS Tales, a site for irritable bowel syndrome sufferers.

To be eligible for the Hope Award, websites must:

offer accurate information and resources for patients
encourage sufferers to search for new treatments and hope
refuse to accept inadequate medical advice and doctors who tell us to "learn to live with it"!

IBS Tales web site says of this award:
The awards were created because of demand from visitors to our own site, IBS Tales. Many visitors want to recommend websites that they have found very useful but which are not directly related to IBS, or are related to another medical condition which they suffer from alongside their IBS. We therefore decided to set up the Hope Awards to reward websites that support people through all kinds of different illnesses.
