Jumping for Fibromyalgia
The last thing bungee jump participants hear is, "3 - 2 - 1 - BUNGEE!" as they throw themselves into the air, 165ft up with only a bungee jump cord attached, rushing to the ground at 60mph. Bungee jumping is a safe but exhilarating experience, guaranteed to put excitement on a person’s face just thinking about a bungee jump experience!
The UK Bungee Club, established in 1992, has successfully provided bungee jump experiences to over 100,000 people and has helped raise more than £1,000,000 for good causes through charity bungee jumping.
Carli Weir, a fibromyalgia fighter is undertaking such a bungee jump, together with several friends, on 25th July on the Hove Lawns [Brighton & Hove]. Why? To raise money through sponsorship for our group, the Fibromyalgia Support Group for Surrey and Sussex. Like all charities, it has been hit by the recession and is struggling to stretch its dwindling resourses to meet overheads.
You can help! Will you sponsor our brave volunteers and help support the support group? There are several ways you can give.
- Sponsorship forms that you can fill in when you donate, available from members of the group as well as the volunteers.
- You can post a cheque or postal order to the Treasurer, FMS SAS, 42, Gaisford Rd, Worthing, BN14 7HW, made payable to FMSSAS and marked BungeeJump on the back.
If you are a UK tax payer and wish to Gift Aid your donation please indicate this appropriately.
