SPONSORSHIP PLEASE FOR CONFERENCE 2011Fibromyalgia Conference & Pamper WeekendSouth Downs Holiday Village Bracklesham Bay FIBRO FARES FUNDYOUR HELP IN SPONSORING Sarah and Marie-Caroline would be appreciated - unless you are doing your own fund raising effort within the group. ![]() the lady who arranged all the pampering for the 2010 conference, who is doing a triathlon on July 18 with her 7 year old and 17 year old sons to help our fibro funds. THE OWEN STORY Sarah said, "I originally decided to do it last summer to give me a focal point and commitment to getting healthier after I reached 40 last year - I wanted to lose some weight and get back to swimming after 25 years and generally put some more fitness back into my life alongside my yoga practice. My eldest boy, David who is 17 decided to join me in January as he was doing a 10k run that got cancelled. Then the youngest, Jonathan who is 7, got the 'bug' and so he is doing a much shorter version for his age group. We are training at our respective homes, Chichester and Aberdeen (David's home) but hope to join up for our last week of training together, now that he is finished his exams and off to University in the autumn. The youngest does his swimmimg and running training with me though, when we can." Asked if she had you done a triathlon or half marathon before she said, "No never, and probably never again!!!" David is a briliant basketball and rugby player, swimmer (a working lifeguard part time), cricketer and works out in the gym. Andrew, Sarah's husband, is resting and watching Jonathan (and holding the water bottles!) Questioned about her training Sarah told me, "I train on my own but I have good self motivation and commitment when I call on it." As well as supporting the fibro cause the Owen family is also behind local charities. Sarah is also supporting the Play Team in Chichester. Jonathan is doing it also for the 12th Chichester Scouts and David for the Invisible Children Charity. You can download a sponsorship form here. This is Marie-Caroline ![]() on her walk before the sun shone and Spring arrived. ![]() Come on slow coach - as Marie-Caroline catches up on her 100 mile South Downs Way walk. MARIE-CAROLINE'S STORY Fibromite Marie-Caroline, a French lady, has undertaken to walk 100 miles on the South Downs Way in Hampshire through to East Sussex (Eastbourne) over a series of weekends averaging between 8 and 12 miles a walk, to raise money for the Fibro Fares Fund to meet the cost of two American doctors’ air fare and expenses to attend our conference in 2011. We are looking for sponsorship for her to complete the walk in October. Then we hope to have a report of how much she has raised from family, friends and the fellow walkers and how much you have raised in support of her endeavours. Well done Marie-Caroline. Hope you stay the course and keep well. We are all cheering you on. Funds will cover the fares of American doctors to visit the conference. You can download a sponsorship form here.
